About AsanaUP

We’re looking for curious, collaborative, and creative individuals to join our 6-month Product Design apprenticeship program. This program focuses on bringing aspiring designers from non-traditional, diverse backgrounds into our Design team to develop and work on complex and challenging problems. Our apprenticeships create opportunities for people just entering tech to gain the skills, experience and mentorship necessary for a pathway into Asana.

During this apprenticeship, you’ll work directly with dedicated Design mentors who are trained and motivated to ensure your success. You’ll also have the opportunity to work with Engineering, User Research, Product Management, Data Science, and the rest of our amazing Design crew to ship experiences that make it as simple as possible for teams big and small to realize the value of Asana.

We’ve designed this workshop to give a boost to people who identify with historically underrepresented groups in tech as they launch their Product Design career. We'll prepare participants with a peek into life as a Product Designer at Asana, and create an opportunity for participants to ask questions directly to our Design team members.

Our Design team & leaders will cover:

• An overview of the Product Design team at Asana
• Expectations for a Product Design apprentice
• A detailed overview of the AsanaUP apprenticeship program
• Q&A session with our Product Design team

After this event you will walk away with:

• An understanding of the Product Design team & key roles and responsibilities of a Product Designer at Asana
• Insight on the interview process
• A better understanding of the perks and benefits of the AsanaUP Apprenticeship program
• Access to our interview guides and preparation resources 

You Should Attend if You:

• Identify with a historically underrepresented group in technology

• You have a non-traditional design background and face barriers of entry into the tech industry, including but not limited to:
  

• Graduating from a bootcamp

• Being self taught in content design

• Do not hold a design-related degree or have related experience in design roles

• No full-time experience in product design roles

• Appreciate productivity and care deeply about helping teams collaborate more effectively and efficiently, including your own

• Have strong collaboration and communication skills, curiosity, and eagerness to learn and grow

• Desire to be a part of an inclusive culture where everyone brings their whole selves to work
