Meetup

About this event

At this meetup, Asana engineers will share how we build tools that empower teams, both our customers and our own developers, to work smarter and faster.

We will share technical deep dives into the architectural decisions, tooling strategies, and engineering tradeoffs that power a platform used by teams worldwide.

After attending this session, you'll walk away with practical insights on leveraging AI in your workflow, designing APIs that handle enterprise-scale data workloads, and new connections made.

What You’ll Get from This Event:

  • Technical deep dives from engineers building features at scale
  • Practical guidance on integrating AI tools into your development workflow
  • Architecture insights for designing APIs that handle large-scale data exports
  • Networking with Warsaw's product engineering community
  • Food and drinks throughout the evening
  • A behind-the-scenes view of Asana's growing Warsaw engineering tools, practices & operations

Event Highlights:

When global software companies open their engineering offices in new locations, it's common to start with integrations and platform work. That's not an accident. Integrations are an ideal foundation: they're impactful, because they extend the product into customers' real workflows, yet they're also well-defined and self-contained, which helps new teams build confidence, context, and ownership quickly. It's a pattern we've seen work again and again, the perfect balance between autonomy and alignment.

This event features 2 lightning talks and plenty of discussion and networking time. It's designed for engineers who want to understand how we build tools that empower teams, both our customers and our own developers, to work smarter and faster.

Lightning Talk 1: AI-Powered Engineering at Asana

  • As AI evolves, it is changing the way we develop software. Smarter tools are enabling engineers to work faster, systems to become more robust, and iteration loops to become shorter. This talk will explore how using AI can speed up the software development process in Asana.
  • In this talk, you'll see how Asana engineers use AI tools to boost productivity. We will show you our workflows with Cursor and Graphite, as well as Asana’s AI features and custom internal tooling. Hear firsthand how these tools transform day-to-day development, streamline workflows, and accelerate innovation. Learn what works, what doesn't, and how to evaluate which tools will genuinely accelerate your work.

Lightning Talk 2: Scaling Reporting at Asana

  • In this talk, you'll learn about the design of Asana's new asynchronous graph export endpoint, the challenges of handling large datasets efficiently, and what it takes to power data-driven insights for our enterprise customers. We will show you how we leverage Asana’s Reporting API to enable seamless data exports for tools like Tableau and Power BI.

Open Discussion and Networking Time

  • Continue the discussion and share best practices with other engineers over food and drinks
